    ‘Amesbury Abbey’

Story by Simon Chalk.
Amesbury Abbey is a very old part of Amesbury’s history it was purposely built for the monks and apparently has a lot of tunnels leading from it(to the nearby church, antrobus arms pub), the rectory and a cave in the grounds and on to nearby stonehenge. It is now a old persons nursing home and has been for sometime. A girlfriend of a friend of mines was working there as a carer and one night was asked to do an evening shift. She said herself and another carer was just doing the night rounds and coming from the third floor to the second when all of a sudden a figure appeared walking in front of them. Both of them didnt recognise the person so asked excuse me who are you. The figure ignored them and entered a room. oh no the carers thought they had better not wake up the lady whos room the figure had entered so they rushed in behind it only to find the room empty and only the lady fast asleep in her bed.

    ‘Recreation’

Story by simon chalk of Amesbury.
Amesbury recreation ground lies to the east of the town very old and was opened in the early 1900, sit has a childrens play area and a large sports field also at the bottom leads to a wooded area and the river avon. oh and the cemetery runs along side it. One night a friend of mines brother was walking off down that way with alot of camping gear so intrigued I asked where are you lot going, and they replyed to camp down the rec for a laugh. Oh right I said, it was a bit weird but each to there own I thought so let them get on there way.,br> Later on I picked a friend up in my car and told them that I had another friends brother and his mates off towards the rec going camping. My friend said for a laugh lets go and scare them laughing I thought yeah would be fun.
It was coming up to midnight and we headed towards the rec we had only drove a little way when we saw the four of them running back so I pulled over to see what they where up to. My mates brother ran over to
the car looking shook up n scared then told me that they had got down there and decided to sit in the football dug outs then a dark figure walked past them scared they all got up and looked out to see where the figure had gone but it had vanished. That spooked them out so they walked up to the car park near where the swings and roundabout was. They had been there about ten minutes talking and looking out for the figure when all of a sudden they had heard laughing they all turned around to see the dark figure they where looking for stood on the roundabout laughing at them but the strange thing is the roundabout was moving quite fast but the figure wasnt. Hence why they ran back to the town when they had seen it.

    ‘Lordswalk’

Story by simon chalk of Amesbury.
Back, druring the mid 1980’s, my friend and I were playing our usual nightly tricks of hedge hopping/knock and run etc, then we came out onto london road. Well half way down london road there is a wooded walk way called Lords walk. At the time it was dark and full of trees either side of the walkway(before the left hand side was cut back in the early 90’s).
Anyway my friend suggested we took a short cut threw there to get to the town centre and for some reason I had a bad feeling and didn’t want to go in there(something in my head said no!) also as it was about 10.30pm it was dark and eerie, but after alot of persuation I agreed to go in there.
Both of us were abit scared so held on to each others sleeves so the other couldn’t run off. As we had got half way down and our eyes had adjusted to the dark path and moonlight was lighting the way ahead when all of a sudden, walking about 10 yards infront of us could be seen the outline of a small woman. No detail to her clothing just sark greyish outline of her. When I mentioned this to my mate if he had seen her too, he said yes. We both ran straight past her towards the end but as we passed her I looked towards the figure and was unable to see her face. We ran as fast as we could pass this figure after which I glanced back only to notice that the figure had dissapeared which spooked me even more and made me run faster straight out the bottom gate and half way across town. Now what makes me think this was an apparition, was the fact that why would a old woman be doing in a dark wood that time of night and didn’t have a dog so wasn’t walking one and where did she go when she dissapeared we would have seen her still if she was walking back the way we had come also the other way out is straight down a sheer drop of about 15 foot to the lower path to the river.

Are you experiencing something strange in your home from the sound of footsteps, knockings or some other unexplained phenomenon.

Have you seen a ghost in your home.

Are you experiencing Smells or oders in the home, that can not be explained, for example pipe tobacco smells, perfume or aftershave.

Do you ever get a feeling that you are not alone in the home.

Have you seen objects moving around by unseen hands in your home or work place.

Many of these experiences are never reported because people don’t want to feel weird and odd.
People are frightened to talk because of skepticism (it’s all in your head, it’s only your eye’s playing tricks, you’re hallucinating, its a misinterpretation of something natural or some other reply) and are talked out of what may of been a real paranormal experience.
So if you are witnessing events and need someone to talk too, please post your comment below or If you prefer that you and your experience to stay private from public eyes then thats not a problem.

Please contact me on email or mobile.
